2026 WSABE FINALIST

A Milnsbridge milestone for Adrian Weir

Adrian Weir, Founder and Managing Director of Milnsbridge Managed IT Services, has been named a 2026 WSABE finalist in the Optus Business Centre Parramatta Outstanding Business Leader category.

The Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence selected Adrian after independent judging from a record number of submissions. For Milnsbridge, the finalist announcement is a proud recognition of the leadership that has shaped the business since 2002 and the team that carries that work forward.

Adrian founded Milnsbridge in 2002 with a straightforward view of IT support. Businesses should be able to reach a real person quickly, receive a clear answer, and know that somebody will take responsibility for the outcome. That approach still guides the company today.

Adrian is proud to receive the recognition and quick to credit the Milnsbridge team, the clients who have trusted the business, and the Western Sydney community that has supported it.

Adrian's finalist profile appears on the official WSABE 2026 finalists page, where Milnsbridge Managed IT Services is named alongside him. The winner will be announced in September.

THE RECOGNITION

Why this finalist selection matters

Independent judging

WSABE states that the 2026 finalists were chosen through an independent judging process. The result was not a paid listing or a self-issued business claim.

A record field

The organisers received a record number of submissions for the 2026 programme. Reaching the finalist group makes this a meaningful acknowledgement of Adrian's work.

Western Sydney relevance

The award programme is grounded in Western Sydney, where Milnsbridge operates from Penrith and works with businesses throughout the region.

Built at Milnsbridge

Adrian founded Milnsbridge in 2002 and continues to lead the business today. The finalist certificate names both Adrian and Milnsbridge Managed IT Services.

THE MILNSBRIDGE STORY

Leadership built through day-to-day service

Milnsbridge began in 2002. Adrian brought three decades of IT experience into the business, including work with Telstra, Citibank and Unilever. His aim was to make the discipline and accountability of enterprise IT useful to smaller organisations without burying owners and managers in technical language.

That requires more than technical knowledge. A business leader needs to decide which problems deserve attention, explain risk in plain English, and give the team enough authority to solve issues properly. It also means being available when a client is under pressure. Technology problems often arrive at the worst possible time, so the quality of the response matters as much as the tool being used.

Milnsbridge has grown to a team of around 17 people working from Sydney CBD and Penrith. Engineers, service delivery staff and account teams support clients across Greater Sydney. As the company expanded, Adrian kept the operating principle simple. The person who receives a problem owns it until the client has a clear path forward.

The WSABE finalist selection recognises the leadership Adrian has brought to Milnsbridge over more than two decades. The business has grown around that leadership, and the team puts it into practice for clients every day.

HOW THE TEAM WORKS

Four standards that have stayed consistent

Take responsibility

Clients should not need to chase several suppliers to find out who owns a problem. Milnsbridge coordinates the work and keeps the client informed.

Speak plainly

Good advice should help an owner make a decision. Clear explanations are more useful than acronyms, vague warnings or a list of products.

Act before disruption

Monitoring, maintenance and planning reduce avoidable interruptions. Preventing a problem is usually better for the client than responding after work has stopped.

Stay connected locally

The Penrith and Sydney CBD offices keep the team close to the businesses it supports. Local presence also helps Milnsbridge remain part of the Western Sydney business community.

A SHARED MILESTONE

What the finalist result means inside Milnsbridge

Adrian's name is on the certificate alongside Milnsbridge Managed IT Services. That feels right. The business he founded in 2002 and the people who have helped build it are part of the same story.

Milnsbridge now has a team of engineers, service delivery staff and account managers working across Sydney. Adrian sets the direction, and the team turns it into the support clients experience every day.

For Adrian, the finalist announcement is a chance to thank the team, the clients who have backed Milnsbridge, and the Western Sydney business community. The announcement gives everyone a welcome moment to appreciate what the business has built since 2002.
